چکیده
An insect grwoth regulator (IGR), Thompson-Hayward TH 6040 (N-(4-chlorophenyl)-N'-(2,6-difluorobenzoyl)urea), incorporated in the feed of rhinoceroses at rates of 1 and 0.1 mg/kg inhibited development of Musca domestica L. and Stomoxys calcitrans (L.) in the feces.

Efficacy of insect parasitoid Dirhinus himalayanus (Hymenoptera: Chalcididae) & insect growth regulator, triflumuron against house fly, Musca domestica (Diptera: Muscidae).
BACKGROUND & OBJECTIVES In fly management programme chemicals are extensively used. Combined use of insect growth regulator (IGR) and parasitoids would yield a better reduction in fly density, as exposure of fly larvae to sub lethal dose of IGR enhances pupal duration and thereby increases the exposure time for parasitism. The objective of the present study was to explore the additive effect of...
متن کاملLaboratory evaluation of novaluron as a development site treatment for controlling larval horn flies, house flies, and stable flies (Diptera: Muscidae).
A granular formulation of novaluron (Novaluron 0.2G, 0.2% [AI]), a newer benzoylphenyl urea insecticide, was evaluated for its efficacy in controlling the larval stage of horn flies, Haematobia irritans (L.); house flies, Musca domestica L.; and stable flies, Stomoxys calcitrans (L.), in cow manure. Various rates and insecticide placement locations (top, middle, and bottom of manure) were evalu...
متن کاملGrowth performance, feed Utilization and body composition of nile tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus (Linnaeus, 1758) fed with different levels of black soldier fly, Hermetia illucens (Linnaeus, 1758) maggot meal diet
In this study, fish meal (FM) was replaced by the black soldier fly maggot meal (BSFM) with replacement levels at 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%. The feeding trial was conducted for 56 days and the effect of each replacement level on the growth performance, feed utilization, body composition and survival of the experimental fish was assessed. All the experimental diets were well accepted by the fis...
متن کاملAdministration of Brevibacillus laterosporus spores as a poultry feed additive to inhibit house fly development in feces: a new eco-sustainable concept.
The success of a microbial pesticide application against house flies developing in manure should accomplish the uniform mixing of active ingredients with this breeding medium, thus enhancing residual effects. The oral administration of the entomopathogenic bacterium Brevibacillus laterosporus to caged poultry species allows the homogeneous incorporation of its active ingredients with fly breedi...
